Administration playing the blame game

If ever a single email revealed the character of the Bush administration, this is the one.

FROM: US Department of Justice

TO: Various U.S. Attorney's offices

SUBJECT: Have you had any cases involving the levees in New Orleans?

QUESTION: Has your district defended any cases on behalf of the Army Corps of Engineers against claims brought by environmental groups seeking to block or otherwise impede the Corps' work on the levees protecting New Orleans? If so, please describe the case and the outcome of the litigation.

While anyone who points out the shameful failure to do anything to prevent this disaster and the criminal failure to get to work once it occurred is accused of "playing the blame game," the administration is casting about for someone to blame.

This bunch is above nothing.
